Total Siege of the Sky
About the project
In this age of war, each time you unlock your Phone, you’re met with an unrelenting flood of horrors—war crimes laid bare, leaders who seem content only when the rumble of tanks fills the air, and people livestreaming their final moments. The weight of it all is crushing, leaving you overwhelmed, shocked, and seething with frustration. Turning away feels impossible; you must bear witness. Life, irrevocably, has changed. Budgets for vital sociocultural initiatives are gutted, their lifeblood drained to feed the insatiable war machine—all cynically justified in the name of peace. But what kind of peace dismantles solidarity while tanks roll and bombs fall? Fuck war, fuck all hypocrites - drop acid, not bombs!

To channel some of this anger and grapple with the unbearable injustice, I created a game: Total Siege of the Sky 4 Ever. War is as senseless as shooting at clouds. Fuck war, fuck all hypocrites—drop acid, not bombs! In the game, you play as a tank receiving orders from the 'God in the Tank' to kill all the clouds, as they have rained for 99 days and are therefore considered to be carrying out 'terrorist' activities by attempting to rust the tanks and bring down Tankland. You shoot down as many clouds as possible using grenades and bombs within 60 seconds, aiming to beat the high score, similar to old-school arcade games, and make it onto the ultimate Warlord list. The game restarts without the possibility of a true victory or advancing to a new level. As you shoot down a certain number of clouds, you receive weapons imports, such as special grenades, nuclear bombs, or even amphetamines, to restore your health bar or cause even more damage. Your mission is complicated by the sun, which naturally wants to protect her heavenly children and actively attacks the tank. Additionally, when the sun is hit, her tears cause the water level to rise, drowning allied tanks and causing you to take damage.
