Можно взять любой стул, сфотографировать и дать его энциклопедическое определение — получится «Один и три стула» Кошута. Так и с моей работой.
Я как-то задумался, что такое искусство. Взял табурет, положил на него кучу всего и подумал: «Вот она, наша Земля. Тут находится всё искусство».
Кто-то однажды спросил: «Что это за мусорный алтарь?» Так и появилось название.
А ведь планетой Земля мусорный алтарь не ограничен: космонавты же берут с собой в космос картины, музыку. У этого алтаря вообще нет границ.
Что можно положить на такой алтарь? Вроде бы всё, раз он ничем не ограничен. А потом я понял, что на него не положить «открытое понятие». За пределами останется та его часть, которая и делает его открытым, — изменение.
Но закрытых понятий нет, есть лишь те, которые стремятся к закрытости. Значит, на мусорный алтарь вообще ничего нельзя положить.
Что же тогда я вижу на табурете? Видимую часть инсталляции — назовем её горизонтом событий.
Реальный объект «Мусорный алтарь» наблюдать нельзя.
